Dakota Root is a doctoral candidate at ENS, with research focused on online identity and identity management systems. Prior to starting her PhD, she completed a MSc in Politics, Economics, and Philosophy at Hamburg University, where her thesis looked at law enforcement responses to the "Going Dark" encryption debate. She graduated magna cum laude with a BA from Harvard University, where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on NSA surveillance.
