Jan Verlin is Deputy Director and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair and co-organises the Horizon 2020 research project ENGAGE.

He has held Postdoctoral research fellow positions at Science Po's Centre of Sociology of Organizations and its Centre for International Research, where he worked on environmental risk and crisis management in European overseas territories. After studying political science at Freie Universität Berlin, he received his PhD in 2017 from Paris-Nanterre University with a thesis on humanitarian crisis management.
